چکیده

The history of the linear time-delayed and time-periodic oscillator demonstrates how stability theory has developed from the damped oscillator to the delayed Mathieu equation. Based on these results, it is a natural idea to apply time-periodic control gains when large time delay in the feedback loop tends to destabilize the system. By formulating the act-and-wait control concept as a special case of periodic controllers, a time delayed version of the Brockett problem is posed. Examples demonstrate the efficiency of the kind of time periodic control where the feedback is switched off for a waiting interval longer than the delay. # 2006 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Stability Analysis of a Strongly Displacement Time-Delayed Duffing Oscillator Using Multiple Scales Homotopy Perturbation Method

In the present study, some perturbation methods are applied to Duffing equations having a displacement time-delayed variable to study the stability of such systems. Two approaches are considered to analyze Duffing oscillator having a strong delayed variable. The homotopy perturbation method is applied through the frequency analysis and nonlinear frequency is formulated as a function of all the ...

Stabilizing unstable periodic orbits with delayed feedback control in act-and-wait fashion

A delayed feedback control framework for stabilizing unstable periodic orbits of linear periodic time-varying systems is proposed. In this framework, act-and-wait approach is utilized for switching a delayed feedback controller on and off alternately at every integer multiples of the period of the system. By analyzing the monodromymatrix of the closed-loop system, we obtain conditions under whi...

Stabilization of chaotic systems via fuzzy time-delayed controller approac

In this paper, we investigate the stabilization of unstable periodic orbits of continuous time chaotic systems usingfuzzy time-delayed controllers. For this aim, we present a control method that can achieve stabilization of an unstableperiodic orbit (UPO) without any knowledge of the system model. Our proposal is attained progressively. First, wecombine the input-to-state linearizing controller...

Pole Assignment Of Linear Discrete-Time Periodic Systems In Specified Discs Through State Feedback

The problem of pole assignment, also known as an eigenvalue assignment, in linear discrete-time periodic systems in discs was solved by a novel method which employs elementary similarity operations. The former methods tried to assign the points inside the unit circle while preserving the stability of the discrete time periodic system. Nevertheless, now we can obtain the location of eigenvalues ...

Act-and-Wait Control Theory for Continuous-Time Systems with Random Feedback Delays

Continuous-time systems with random state feedback delay are difficult to control in general because of its infinite poles. In this paper, the act-and-wait controller is well developed to solve this problem. If the infinite dimensional pole placement problem can be reduced to a finite dimensional one, it would be facility to make the system stable by the aid of pole placement method. The mechan...
